Located in north-central Bulgaria, on Mount Trapezitsa, the town of Veliko Tarnovo is crossed by the multiple meanders of the Yantra River.


Veliko Tarnovo is nicknamed the “Queen of Bulgarian cities”. It is famous for having been the historic capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire, until its fall on July 17, 1393.


Located in the central north of the country, on Mount Trapezitsa, Veliko Tarnovo is crossed by the Yantra River and is nicknamed the "Queen of Bulgarian cities". Today a major university and economic center of Bulgaria, it is also a city rich in an intense and varied historical and cultural heritage.
