Golden Sands



Golden Sands is a seaside resort in Bulgaria, located on the Black Sea, 17 km north of Varna.

It is also known by its English name Golden Sands. The Varna region is indeed blessed with numerous parks and natural gardens with the famous Golden Sands Natural Park.


This natural site has held a Blue Flag for years thanks to the quality of its water.

The City Center is located in a natural park covering 1,321 hectares, declared protected territory since 1943.


But there are also other virgin and preserved natural sites in the region such as the Kamtchiya Park or the Baltata nature reserve. And the nearby city of Varna is also an important seaside resort in Bulgaria where you can have fun with the different water activities offered.

Or simply relax and enjoy the generous sunshine. Indeed, in the region, summers are hot and sunny.


Temperatures rise between 25 and 35°C and the sea water is very pleasant from the end of Spring. With its exceptional location on the shores of the Black Sea, Bulgaria is undoubtedly a perfect destination.

Sinemorets



Sinemorets is a seaside village in Bulgaria located on the southeastern coast of Bulgaria, near the border with Turkey.


It lies on a peninsula south of the Veleka estuary where the river flows into the Black Sea, and at the entrance to the Strandzha Nature Park.

It is a picturesque village with its traditional, peaceful and charming fishing port.


The seaside resort of Sinemorets offers excellent conditions for recreation at sea combined with opportunities for tourist walks in beautiful nature.

This is contributed by its location on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and at the mouth of the Veleka River.


Strandzha Nature Park

The beaches of Sinemorets are among the most beautiful on the Black Sea coast.

Two of them are completely wild and suitable for those seeking tranquility and privacy in nature. The 8 km stretch from the mouth of the Veleka River to “Tsarsko kladenche” is permitted for sailing.

This offers opportunities for motorboat and kayak rides to view the rare yellow water lily. The location of Sinemorets is on the territory of the Strandzha Nature Park.

It is the most important natural park in Bulgaria.

Next to the village there are two protected areas with unique natural resources.



Veleka estuary beach

Veleka estuary beach is also a perfect beach on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria for all diving enthusiasts.

The sun is generous and the setting is idyllic. A peaceful and wild swim awaits you there with a real postcard landscape because it is a sandbank wedged between the sea and the river.

The water is shallow, which is perfect for children and the atmosphere is very family-friendly.


On the beach, no shops or street vendors.

Pedal boats and windsurfing boards faded in the sun give this beach a 70s feel.

You can also discover “The Ships” rock formation, a rocky area near Sinemorets.


Bolata Bay



Bolata is a small cove and nature reserve located on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The bay is part of the Kaliakra reserve.

The area is a wetland of great importance for some rare plant and animal species.


Indeed, Cape Kaliakra is a favorite place for ecologists, photographers and lovers of beautiful views.

The wild nature, the rocks that picturesquely enter the waters with birds flying above them, and the remains of an ancient fortress attract tourists like a real magnet.


Ahtopol


Ahtopol is the southernmost Bulgarian city on the Black Sea.

It is located on the southern coast of the Bulgarian Black Sea, on a rocky peninsula at the foot of Strandzha Mountain.


This charming seaside resort is located on a promontory in the southeastern part of the Burgas province and is close to the border with European Turkey.

Ahtopol is located in the Strandzha Nature Park and about 85 km south of Burgas. Here we have the greatest number of sunny days on the entire Bulgarian coast and the water temperature is higher than elsewhere (around 25°C in summer).

The beaches of Ahtopol are covered with fine sand and it is still one of the quiet places on the Bulgarian coast.

You can swim there from May to October.


Ahtopol is therefore a particularly pleasant place.

The small town offers many family hotels, shops, ice cream bars and nice restaurants.

Sunny Beach


Sunny Beach (Slanchev briag) is the largest seaside resort in Bulgaria.

It is also known by the French name Côte du Soleil.

Located on the coast of the Black Sea between Varna and Burgas, it extends along a bay of more than 9 km of fine sand, called “Côte du Soleil”.


With its countless hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, discos and nightclubs, Sunny Beach is often considered a new Ibiza, Bulgarian version.

Tourists come from all over Europe during the summer season, which runs from May until the end of September.


In just a few years, it has become a real economic hub for Bulgaria, driven by tourism and the country's accession to the European Union.

Sunny beach offers beautiful views of the Nessebar peninsula accessible by boat.


Sozopol




Sozopol is an ancient seaside town located 35 km south of Burgas on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is built on a peninsula in eastern Bulgaria and its climate is temperate. Its coast alternates between beaches and rocky capes, with islets.


Nessebar – The pearl of the Black Sea



Located a few kilometers north of Burgas along the “Sun Coast” on a peninsula in the Black Sea, the historic town of Nessebar is today recognized as one of the oldest cities in Europe.

Old Nessebar has also been included on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1983.


Old Nessebar

Founded by the Thracians around 3000 years BC, the city holds numerous treasures, churches and architectural monuments that bear witness to the city's Greek, Roman and Byzantine past.


Some remains will only be visible to scuba diving enthusiasts.

Notably the remains submerged by the sea of the Greek enclosure built in the sixth century BC.


Pomorie



Pomorie is a maritime town, located on a narrow and short peninsula, equidistant between Burgas and Nessebar.

The peculiarity of Pomorie is that it is surrounded by water almost on all sides – the Black Sea in the south, the east and northeast, Lake Pomorie in the north.


Cape Kaliakra



Kaliakra is a long and narrow promontory in the southern Dobruja region, on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, 12 km east of Kavarna, 60km northeast of Varna.

The coast is steep with vertical cliffs reaching 70 meters down to the sea.


Kaliakra is a nature reserve, where dolphins and cormorants can be observed.

It lies on the Via Pontica, an important bird migration route from Africa to Eastern and Northern Europe.

Many rare and migrant birds can be seen here in spring and autumn.


It also houses the remains of the ramparts, the aqueduct, the thermal baths and the residence of Despot Dobrotitsa in the short-lived medieval capital of Karvuna.

Many popular legends exist about the place.


Bolata Bay with a small sheltered beach lies just to the north at the mouth of a picturesque canyon, also part of the Kaliakra Nature Reserve.

This bay is unique for the region and the beach is popular with locals and tourists.


Varna – The maritime capital of Bulgaria



Varna and the Black Sea Varna is a famous seaside resort in Bulgaria on the Black Sea. It is very touristy and includes the seaside resorts of Golden Sands, Albéna, Saints Constantine and Helena and the Kamtchia River natural park. Third city in the country, it is an ideal destination in summer.


Balchik


The town of Balchik is located in a large bay on the Black Sea, 45 km north of Varna and 35 km south-east of Dobrich.


In Balchik is the largest botanical garden in the country, located in the park of the palace of Queen Marie of Romania. The vast park was designed by the Swiss landscaper Jules Jany.


Burgas – By the Black Sea



Burgas and the Black Sea Surrounded by the salt lakes of Atanasovsko and Bourgasko with curative properties, Burgas is an ancient Roman city located in one of the bays of the Black Sea. The city is today one of the most important industrial and maritime cities in the country. It is the main seaside resort in Bulgaria and is a dream destination.
